My Journey: Building Leadership That Transforms African Audit
I was born and raised in Nairobi, where my childhood was defined by curiosity, observation, and a love for exploration. I thrived outdoors, learning lessons about independence, adaptability, and problem-solving long before I would step into a boardroom.
My formative years spanned eight years of primary education in Nairobi and four years at a boarding school in Machakos. These experiences taught discipline, self-reliance, and the capacity to adapt to new environments—skills that would later shape my professional agility.
In 2003, I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management (Accounting & Finance) from Moi University, laying the technical foundation for a journey that would blend skill with strategy, and competence with influence.

Taking Initiative Against the Odds
My first role was as an Accounts Assistant, earning $47.0 USD per month. To bridge financial gaps, I sold airtime scratch cards—demonstrating early entrepreneurial thinking and a willingness to act despite constraints.
Within nine months, I transitioned into internal audit within a government institution. This move was driven by purpose, not convenience, and reinforced a principle that has guided me ever since: Leadership is defined by proactive initiative, even in environments that doubt your potential.

Strategic and Global Exposure
Learning Across Borders
I progressed into consulting, international health NGOs, and development institutions—roles demanding cross-border travel, cultural fluency, and high-stakes decision-making.
During this period, I achieved Silver status under KLM SkyTeam, an indicator not just of travel, but of exposure to diverse cultures, perspectives, and the nuances of global leadership. I learned firsthand how to navigate complex organizational ecosystems and manage teams across multiple contexts.

My first child was born on the second day of my probation—a moment that crystallized a lifelong lesson: leadership is not measured solely by operational excellence, but by the ability to lead with values, empathy, and intentionality.
